Went to Church with Grandpa(Bedok)

Visited grandpa's shop to see how's he doing. Have not been visiting him for very long, ever since his discharge from hospital.

Quite relieved that he is doing fine and not suffering from any constant pains post operation. Evangelist Uncle was there too. Had a short chat with everyone there.

Evangelist UNcle and Aunt and me later brought Grandpa to Calvary church at Bedok South. Wasn't easy persuading him to go, but alas, he went. Coincidentally when i visited him at the shop, was the day that the there's a parents thanksgiving service that Grandpa could go to. God is working. Managed to persuade him to go in the end.

Service at Calvary is quite unlike Zion. Lots of weird irrelevant English songs and stuff for the elderly audience. The agenda for the service needs serious review man. But the sermon was good. Simple Hokkien that spoke the truth about believeing in God. Tried to check on Grandpa and made sure that he understood the message. Alas, at the end, he is still resistant. The seed has been planted, as Cat say, God, please let it grow and whenever he needs it, he can call upon ur name.Amen.

Blog Entry 26th July

We need to get away from a "win them" mentality. People do not put their faith in Christ because we cleverly "force" them to believe. We must realize that if we "win" someone to Christ, he's probably not saved. D. L. Moody, the evangelist, was riding on a train when a drunk came up to him and said, "Mr. Moody, I'm one of your converts." Moody replied, "I'm afraid you are, because you're obviously not a convert of the Lord's."

You guys have any spiritual beliefs in life?
I guess admist all these money earning, exceling in academic grades culture, i often ask myself, what are all these for? What is life's purpose? We were always taught to have the big picture in school or work, what about the big picture of life?

-------------
THE APPROACH
-------------

1. Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?
2. To you, who is Jesus?
3. Do you think there is a heaven and a hell?
4. If you died right now, where would you go?
5. If what you believe were not true, would you want to know it?

---------------------------------
Verses to guide someone to Christ
---------------------------------

Romans 3:23--"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Romans 6:23--"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

John 3:3--"No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."

John 14:6--"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Romans 10:9-11--"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, 'Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.'"

Revelation 3:20--"I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me."
